Cosmetic Dermatology
Filler that restores rather than adds.
Faces change with volume loss as much as with wrinkles. Filler, placed conservatively in the right plane, can restore structure that has been lost — which looks very different from adding volume where there never was any.

Candidacy
What it’s good for
- Hollowing under the eyes and in the midface
- Deepening folds around the mouth
- Loss of definition at the chin and jawline
- Volume loss in the temples
- Lip shape, hydration and definition, treated subtly
How it works
The mechanism, plainly
Most fillers used are hyaluronic acid gels of varying thickness, chosen for the depth and tissue they will support.
Placement follows facial anatomy: deeper, structural products on bone, softer products in more superficial planes.
An important advantage of hyaluronic acid products is that they can be dissolved if needed.
The visit
What to expect in the room
- A full facial assessment comes first; treating one area often changes what another area needs.
- Numbing cream and lidocaine within the product are used for comfort.
- Treatment usually takes 20 to 45 minutes.
- Results are visible immediately, then settle over about two weeks.
Recovery
Downtime and aftercare
- Swelling and tenderness for several days, more with lip treatment
- Bruising is possible; avoid blood thinners and alcohol beforehand where medically safe
- Plan treatment at least two weeks before an important event
Honest expectations
What this treatment will not do
Filler carries real risks, including bruising, swelling, lumps, and rarely vascular complications. Dr. Gaul's approach is deliberately conservative and staged. If your goal is better achieved with skin-quality treatment, tightening or a surgical consultation, she will say so.
Cosmetic treatments are not covered by insurance. Payment is due at the time of booking, and a cosmetic consultation is $150. Pricing is subject to change, and a consultation may be required before treatment.

Questions
Frequently asked
Depending on the product and area, generally in the range of six to eighteen months. Longevity varies between individuals.
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme if needed. Not all products are reversible, which is one reason product selection matters.
The intention is that it will not. Treating less at a single visit, then reassessing, is the most reliable way to keep results natural.
