Our Approach
A different kind of dermatology practice.
Private practice makes some things possible that larger systems struggle with: longer visits, decisions made in the room, and care that stays with one physician over time.

Time is part of the treatment
Complex concerns are scheduled as their own visits. A rash, an acne plan, a hair loss evaluation and a full skin examination each need their own history and discussion — so they are not stacked into one appointment.
Diagnosis before prescription
Several conditions can look identical, and the treatment for one can worsen another. When the diagnosis is not clear, we use the tools that settle it rather than guessing twice.
Honest recommendations
If the best option is something we do not offer, we will say so and help you find who does. If you do not need a treatment, we will tell you that too.
Continuity with one physician
Dermatology often unfolds over years. You will see Dr. Gaul, who will know your history without needing to reread it.
Clear costs
You should know what a visit or treatment will cost before it happens. Our insurance, cash-pay and cosmetic policies are published rather than explained at checkout.
The whole person
Training in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology means your skin is considered alongside your medications, your other conditions and your life — not separately from them.
What to expect
Your first visit
You will be asked about the concern that brought you in, your medical history, your medications and what you have already tried. Then you will be examined, and the findings will be explained to you in plain language.
If something can be handled the same day — a biopsy, a freeze, an injection — it usually is. If a plan needs time to work, you will know how long to give it and when to come back.
You are welcome to bring questions, photographs of a rash that comes and goes, or a family member. It is your visit.
Communication
How we handle messages and records
Clinical questions are handled through our approved secure patient communication platform or by phone — not by website form or ordinary email, which are not appropriate for health information.
Please do not send symptoms, photographs or medical details through general email or any web form. We will always direct you to a secure channel.
This page is general education and is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it does not create a physician–patient relationship. Individual circumstances differ; please discuss your own skin with a qualified clinician. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.
Let’s take care of your skin.
Whether something has changed, something has been bothering you for years, or you simply want expert guidance on keeping your skin healthy, we’re here to help.
