Dr. Gaul met Dr. Michael after moving to Rapid City to practice as an orthopedic surgeon following residency. They quickly bonded over their shared training in Ohio and a mutual interest in learning to golf. Dr. Gaul continues to be impressed by Dr. Michael’s friendly, unassuming demeanor and her achievement of completing five years of a highly sought-after residency in the traditionally male-dominated field of orthopedic surgery.
After persistent encouragement from Dr. Gaul to join her new practice, Dr. Michael agreed to come on part-time. On Monday and Friday mornings, she will offer cash-pay hair loss and weight management appointments. We are thrilled that such an intelligent, hardworking, and fully trained orthopedic surgeon will once again be caring for patients as a physician in Rapid City.
Rachel Michael, MD, completed her medical training at Northeast Ohio Medical University and her residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Toledo. Following significant life transitions, she has embraced roles as a stepmother and yoga instructor and is now embarking on an exciting new venture in the field of dermatology.
