What does ‘hybrid fractional’ mean?
Sciton HALO combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in a fractional resurfacing treatment. In plain language, it treats small portions of the skin using two approaches, with untreated skin between treatment zones.
HALO is often considered for texture, fine lines and visible sun damage. It is not the same as BBL: BBL uses filtered broadband light, while HALO uses laser wavelengths for resurfacing. The choice depends on the concern and your willingness to allow healing time.
How many days should I keep clear?
Sciton describes several days of downtime, with its patient information often citing roughly three to five days. Its aftercare material also notes redness can last longer depending on treatment intensity. These are planning estimates, not a promise about your recovery.
Our practice discusses possible redness, warmth, swelling, roughness and flaking before scheduling. Ask what visible healing may look like for your particular plan, including whether you should avoid makeup, exercise or other activities for a period of time.
Does September automatically make it safe?
No. A fall appointment does not cancel out recent tanning, outdoor travel or future sun exposure. Review your plans and skin history before booking. Eye protection during treatment and a careful aftercare plan are important.
Laser risks include burns, pigment changes, infection and scarring. Tell your clinician about past cold sores, medications, prior procedures and reactions. Do not begin or stop prescription products based only on a blog article.
How do I decide whether it is worth it?
Ask which of your concerns HALO is likely to address, what it may not improve, how many sessions might be proposed and what the complete cost is. The published pricing page provides a starting point, while an individual quote depends on the treatment plan.
Healthy Aging Month is a broader health observance, not a reason everyone needs cosmetic treatment. Sun protection and medical assessment of changing lesions remain important whether or not you choose resurfacing.
